Title: PE non plus Deuces Wild broken again. Post by: videoporker on September 14, 2012, 10:09:05 PM Damn it! Just getting settled in our new house and got the machine set up in a good location.
The screen is black when first started but static to the touch like there is juice to it. After a bit, the picture comes on but the cards are divided in the middle, image on top of screen and bottom and rolling. After about 15 minutes and some messing with the screen controls, the image stabilizes and game plays normal. Next day same routine. I assume the monitor is about to conk out, the game plays normal as soon as it's turned on. I hit 4 deuces and the hopper payed the 1000 coins after a fill too. I'm thinking I might gut the machine, sell the hopper and main board and various parts if anybody wants them. Then I'll use the cabinet to make the ultimate M.A.M.E. poker machine. Shame to see another oldie bite the dust. Title: Re: PE non plus Deuces Wild broken again. Post by: knagl on September 16, 2012, 07:34:19 PM There's a good thread here in the PE+ section about making the conversion to a LCD VGA monitor in your machine. That's always an option instead of gutting the machine, and the PE+ games that I've seen with LCD monitors look spectacular.

If you've already capped the board it's probably a solder issue being as it goes away when it warms up. A can of freeze spray from Radio Shack or wherever would probably find it for you pretty quick
Title: Re: PE non plus Deuces Wild broken again. Post by: videoporker on September 17, 2012, 02:32:50 PM Thanks guys but I think the M.A.M.E. conversion is the way to go.
It's the third monitor I've put in this machine and I have no board level skills to repair it or convert to LCD. Even converted to LCD, it's just a single game PE non plus. With the M.A.M.E it would be PE+ and tons of other games and it would use an LCD. I was trying to build a small tabletop M.A.M.E cabinet a while back but my carpentry skills are non existent. I did build a machine that worked, so it would be easy for me to put that set up in the IGT cabinet. (http://i891.photobucket.com/albums/ac116/groovecart/Picture006-2.jpg) |
