Title: IGT S-AVP
Post by: reho33 on September 17, 2012, 01:50:52 PM
I will ask this question again, can the IGT S-AVP run like the Bally Alpha as a standalone machine? And how come I don't see any for sale, all the hub-bub is about the Alpha?

That's a good question...maybe they are just still in casinos? I believe they cost a ton of money, so maybe the casinos aren't cutting loose with them yet or are still under contract/lease. I know the techs on slottechforum are not crazy about them, saying they are unstable. We buy parts from casinos and all we've come across is one Brain Box...

Comes down to $$$$.  Although both platforms are new to the market the Alphas are relatively affordable in the $800 to $3,500 range depending on model.  The AVP's can run you $3,000 to $7,500 depending on model.  It's just to early to bring the AVP's to the home use market.
