Title: IGT ASP Documentation
Post by: nathgordon on September 18, 2012, 07:12:29 AM
Does any documentation exists for the IGT ASP (2000?) Protocol?

I am wanting to be able to interface from an EGM and interpret the ASP protocol (eg via a PC & Serial interface) for both diagnostic and interfacing purposes.

Any tips/ideas/info would be great.

Hi and Welcome to NLG

ASP (Aristocrat Serial Protocol) is a Aristocrat protocol and seems to be used in Oz. Could not find any details about the protocol on the www.
Are You a home user or operator? What model IGT is this ? Could it be converted to talk SAS?

Yes, ASP (Aristocrat Serial Protocol) is used in NZ and AUS.  I am a operator and all our machines use ASP and I want to develop an interface for triggering events based on machine events via ASP.  IGT do have an interface board however they are hard to come by and way more than we require.
So just after any protocol information I can read from the machine via a serial connection for example.

If you are a operator You may be able to get the protocol specs from Aristocrat - alternatively contact NLG member AndyP who has a company in Oz that developes these kinds of projects
