Title: Bally S5500 - - Blazing 7s Double Jackpot game.
Post by: colorado on September 25, 2012, 09:47:35 PM
With the help of some of the awesome members of this forum.

I was able to get an MPU board for this Bally S5500 Blazing 7s Double Jackpot game.

I also installed new personality chips and did a "CLR"

The payout doesn't seem to match the payout glass.

When the bars line up the payout seems to be correct.
When the 777's line up there is no payout or the wrong payout.

Is there a possibility the mains or any other chips on the board could be the wrong chips ?

I have attached photos of the payout glass and some of the chips.. :103-

are you playing more than 1 coin?

You know, that's a good question.  I couldn't swear to
It that each time I put in three.  I'll run it for a while again making sure each play
I use two or three quarters.

Another thing I noticed.  The reels don't seem to new centered
With the windows.  It doesn't look like the glass can be moved
Side to side without creating a gap or hole to the chrome
Edge. Do you think it could be the wrong reel glass.

i doubt it but the strips could be off where they are supposed to be. they can slide in the grooves if they are cleaned too aggressively. The machine is a three coin buy a pay that is why I asked about playing more than one coin. as for the reels, there is a small bump within the groove of the reel that the notch on the strip has to line up on. check that

I will check that.
The glass just looks like it doesn't fit the reels.
Side to side.  Also there are those blank space above the reel windows.
Maybe used to have tags or signs in there.

I'll double check the reel strips are seated.
Thanks a ton.

yeah, you're missing all the inserts. the top left should be play 3 credits or coins. the long one indicates hopper payout limit and the bottom is for the denom. you may be able to loosen the screws and adjust the glass a little to center the reels better.

Colorado,
Your reel glass is for 6000, not 5500
Nevertheless this does not explain the wrong payout.

Assuming you are playing 3 credits, you should check to make sure your reel strips are in the correct order and the correct (upright) notches are aligned.

Thanks,
Wayne

Follow the advice of Wayne
The reel strips have a number at the end like M923-2954
With the Blazing 7s Double, we're sure that the 3rd strip is the one with the Double symbol.
Check the 1st & 2nd, it should be (assuming M923-2954 is the 3rd) : 1st=M923-2952  2nd=M923-2953

another thing, at least with the one we've had. the 6000 has the WBA bill acceptor.

Some early 6000 had mei mars bill acceptors as well, can't remember for sure but I think 5500 did not have ticket printers.

When you look at the machine (upright model), the most obvious difference is the location of digital meters.
6000 >>> below the reels
5500 >>> on the right of the reels

Thanks for the help.
My dilemma is. I bought four pretty stripped
Bally machines.  None none had MPU boards or
Bill acceptor.
I can go with the location of the digital read out.
All are to the right of the reels.
Based on meter location, that means all are S5500 slots.

I think so.
Have you solved your problem for the payout ?
Have you checked the correct order of your reel strips and the notches for upright model ?

Work is getting in the way.
I had to work eleven hours today.
Just got home.
I hope to test it tonight.
Thanks so much.
I will drop a line back with my findings.
Respectfully.

The payout problem appears to have been my problem,
not reading The payout glass correct.  I made sure that all spins were Done with three quarters.
Each payout was correct.  I posted a picture shows any three 7s paid out
200 quarters.

I checked all reels and strips for correct position and location.
All appear to be correct.  Still not sure why reels don't line up
In windows. I'm thinking wrong glass.

Thank you very much for your help and advice.

The reel glass for 6000 is 8"1/4 height, for 5500 > 8"1/8
This can explain the gap for the line up,
because your 5500 on the picture has a 6000 reel glass.

From your last photo,
the line up seems to be correct, except the 2nd reel very, very slightly below.
Not so bad..

It's the side to side location.
The left reel has about 1/4" - 1/2" gap..
The center reel is less and the right reel looks okay.
