But you say it says "Y-90" right next to the word "MODEL", right? Universal was told to put a year of manufacture on their machines. Since the metal tag has no place for year made, they put it next to the word MODEL. So your machine was made in 1990. Universal really had no model number for their machine. I used to get my batteries from Interstate Batteries online. Not sure if they still have the NiCad batteries anymore. What glass??? Title: Re: universal slot machine-help Post by: pinman on September 28, 2012, 08:37:29 PM hey uniman
first let me thank you for responding. yes right next to the word "MODEL" i appreciate the help. i love the machine and would love to get it going. i bought this a few days ago and trying to get it going for my game room. lights up but no more than that. so i figured i start with the battery. also missing top light and the glass where the three wheels are is cracked. thanks Title: Re: universal slot machine-help Post by: uniman on September 28, 2012, 09:31:22 PM What size glass and what game is it? I have some reel glass.
First thing to do with a machine that has only lights is check the power supply outputs. Even with a bad battery the 8116 board will work. Is that what you have? Here's a link that should help; http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=177.msg74235#msg74235 If your power supply outputs are bad then open it up and remove the noise filter if it still has one. The link above has a post on noise filter removal. Title: Re: universal slot machine-help Post by: pinman on September 28, 2012, 09:42:12 PM yes the 8116 board. you know your stuff uniman. i check out the power supply and get you a size on the glass tomorrow.
can't thank you enough for the help. i'll let you know how it goes. thanks again :131- Title: Re: universal slot machine-help Post by: pinman on September 29, 2012, 05:51:54 PM hey uniman
as you can see in pic only back lighting working. led credits and others not working. i can only upload 2 attachments. so there is one of the front and one of the power supply. i have other pics but don't know how to up load them.the noise filter is on the back wall of the machine.should i remove the noise filter and run power cord to the p/s? how do i test the power supply? fuses look good.glass size is 19 3/4 long by 9 1/4 wide. THANKS Title: Re: universal slot machine-help Post by: pinman on September 29, 2012, 05:54:12 PM more pics

got every thing to work. but the arm is not working. i can spin with button but not the arm. there's 2 blue wires that come off the arm but not plugged in to any thing. could this be a problem. uniman help..... :99-....thanks Title: Re: universal slot machine-help Post by: uniman on October 01, 2012, 01:08:19 AM The noise filter on the back wall I've found never to be a problem. The plastic one in the power supply is always trouble! Glad you got it working.
Those two blue wires are for the solenoid that releases the handle. Should be a connector there to connect it to. It then goes to the side of the power supply where the two connectors are near the back of the machine. I do not have that exact reel glass, but may have one close. Let me look and get back to you. it was the noise filter in the power supply.i posted some pics of the arm wiring. looks like i'm missing an extension wire from the blue wires to the red plug at the power supply. any way let me know if you can get that glass. also if you have the extension wire, the coin mechanism, key lock and top light i can use them. again thanks for taking the time to help me. this is my first machine.i love it. thanks uniman.... Title: Re: universal slot machine-help Post by: uniman on October 01, 2012, 09:06:41 PM No, that red connector is power for an 8800 board, the white connector above it is for the handle and your connector is right there in the pic!!
I circled it in red, bottom left corner. The wires are orange. Title: Re: universal slot machine-help Post by: uniman on October 01, 2012, 09:09:56 PM Here are two reel glass that I have. One is just plain purple and blue and the other has a palm tree in left corner and fireworks at top.
I'll pm you with a price. Jim |
