Title: Low battery
Post by: suncatalyst on September 27, 2012, 01:46:44 AM
i have a opportunity to pick up a IGT video poker machine. model 10700 or maybe its 1070c
made 4/87.
it currently says "call attendant low battery"

is there any way around this screen to test the poker machine before i buy it and replace the battery?

he says theres nothing else wrong with it but i dont always trust people.

any help here is appreciated.

A couple of options
The battery is 3.5v
You could potenitally get a Radio Shack battery holder --- Two AA
Connect aligator clips to the leads and clip onto the existing battery leads in parallel.

Make sure the leads are long enough that you can clip it on, slide the MPU back in place and still close the door.

IF you had another PE+ board you could always use that to test. Worst case is that the existing PE+ board is toasters and you need to spend $40 on ebay to replace.

Both options are of course based on the benevalance of the existing owner to let you try.

i Believe its a PE and not a PE+
MPU is behind the hopper.
owner has a brand new battery for it... just find it odd he hasnt had it installed or done it himself.

PE+ has the board above the screen. How many inches are the screen? Is it 19' or 15'?

this is definately a PE.

grabbed it for $100 with the keys (except the reset key)
also got the Service manual for it as well.

got it home , changed the battery and configured it.
had to fix the coin optics connector. pin was bent and machine
didnt recognize any coins passing though.

fixed that and it works good.

have found a few screws missing here and there i need to replace.

anyone know what the number of the bulb that goes in the button is?
