Title: Bally V2000 video twentyone LAMP REPLACEMENT
Post by: shortrackskater on September 29, 2012, 03:52:09 AM
I am going NUTS! Doesn't the socket just pull out of the housing, (like an IGT) in the Bally? I've pulled, pushed, twisted and CURSED and this damn thing won't come out to replace the bulb.
What am I doing wrong? Is there some chant I have to say? Do I just need to pull harder? I'm pulling really at the limit I feel before I snap the housing.

Yes, they do pull out like the IGT machines. You have to be careful but firm, my guess is that the bulb got hot and melted the thing in there tight. So just wiggle it from side to side plastic may be brittle though. Good luck.  :5-

Funny...no sooner that I got the bottom plate on the button/indicator light panel, screwed the four screws in, closed the door and powered up - I hit the change light accidentally and noticed the top light went on but not the button. Hmmmm... on the s plus, the change light doesn't light the button but I think the Bally does...or does it?
I couldn't stand it so I powered down, opened the door, removed the four screws, took out the panel, removed the bottom plate and pulled, twisted, wiggled, cursed, wiggled out the CHANGE light. Sure enough, it was all white on the inside. Replaced it, carefully powered on the unit with the panel dangling out and YES...got not only an illuminated CHANGE light but a BLINKING illuminated change light!
Replaced the bottom plate and screwed the four screws bla bla bla...
I powered up and did some plays. No sooner than one minute of play, was dealt two 3's and I noticed the SPLIT light was out!!!
So...I powered down, opened the door, removed the four screws, bottom plate....  !!! :279-
Every light works now. And I'm really good at removing and replacing lights on a Bally V2000 Videotwentyone.
