Title: Need advice---Bally 6000 Black & White Double Jackpot 06/98 Post by: Bronco Billie on October 05, 2012, 05:23:34 PM I'm new to this forum and need some advice on the above machine. Had the dead battery thing and performed the ram clear after installing a new 3.6 volt battery. What I was wondering is::: This thing puts off a lot of heat from all the lights. Does it kill the battery to turn off the power with the inside switch or does unplugging it do it. I would like to turn it off at night but don't want to have to keep soldering new batteries in it all the time. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Thanks This allways opens a debate...but, the machines I have on a power strip that I turn off with the power strip with credits on the machine eat batteries every 6-8 months. The ones I turn off inside have not taken a battery in a year +. I use a pack that uses 2AA batteries. They last a few years if you buy a good brand. It only puts out 3 volts, but it works great.
Bally machines tend to go through the batteris faster than IGT. If you hook up a battery pack and leave the original battery, then when you change the AA batteries, the orginal battery will hold your info long enough to put new batteries in... Saves you from doing a ram clear. Title: Re: Need advice---Bally 6000 Black & White Double Jackpot 06/98 Post by: Bronco Billie on October 06, 2012, 10:56:59 AM Thanks for the responses guys. I think I'll try the battery pak thing. I'm on my way to Radio Shack. Thanks again.
