Post by: fonsolewis on October 09, 2012, 05:55:23 PM
Hello all, I need to work on a couple of WBA 13's for US dollars and I am not sure if I have the correct bill accpetor (head)...

What I think I have is a WBA 13 - 4 Meg - with the extra Magnetic heads.

If so, I do have the correct unit I belive.

What I also need help on is the lastet version for the ID -003 protocol for the US dollars.

I will upload pics.

Regards
Alfonso

Thanks. I have lots of chips.

I think they are MC274001, if this is the 4 Meg board.

Just not sure if I'm using the correct WBA for US dollars.

I was told that 4 Meg boards are needed for the US dollars and the extra magnetic heads.

Yes they are the 27c4001 or 27c040. You need 70ns or faster chip. I have the latest version you are looking for,  ver3.80. E-mail me for details. I also can flash WBA12 units if you have them as well. The units you have look correct.

Yes Negrito, you're right... The must be 27c4001

Correct again.....

All WBA transpor units are the same for US and Foreign bills...  The only change is the head.

US Dollars need the magnetic heads.

Foreign Bills need optical heads.

For example, the early models of WBA were the following:
WBA 10 -->  1MB Board with falsh type Memory and Mag Head
WBA 11 -->  1MB Board with eprom type memory and Mag Head
WBA 20 -->  1MB Board with falsh type Memory and Optical Head
WBA 21 -->  1MB Board with eprom type memory and Opctical Head

The later models of WBAs which are still in the market are:

WBA 12 -->  4MB Board with falsh type Memory and Mag Head
WBA 13 -->  4MB Board with eprom type memory and Mag Head
WBA 22 -->  4MB Board with falsh type Memory and Optical Head
WBA 23 -->  4MB Board with eprom type memory and Opctical Head

So, if you have WBA 13, you're on the way to go for US Dollars my friend.

Cheers.
