Title: Strange problem
Post by: steph on October 18, 2012, 04:53:38 PM
I have a 3902 running Pharaohs fortune. The machine is loosing parameter settings and soft meters when powered down for a period of around half a day. I have never heard of this and always believed it to be impossible.
I have tested the battery and get a 2.9v reading and there is no low battery tilt or error message. After complete setup and check of all options it works smoothly again until powered down and the restarts in the default setup of 98% payback, requiring a complete setup again. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any pointers please?

Hi Steph!

I had a similar issue, but I got an error about the RAM upon bootup, so I knew it was a bad memory chip.  Could be similar ... memory chip not holding the settings due to static discharge? :50-  In my case, it was my actual game chips.  Here is my post about that ...

Sorry, I don't have any other info.  Hope this helps!

Thanks for taking time out to reply Dave. I have switched out the mother boards and found that to be the problem. Seems it got zapped by a power surge or something.
