Title: universal power supply
Post by: midas touch on October 18, 2012, 05:25:49 PM
I'm getting back to my yellow dot ps that was put on hold for awhile. The problem is I'm getting all of the ac voltages that I'm suppose to have but getting none of the dc voltages.....meaning 0 volts on those pins......So my thinking is that I'm not putting the black test lead in or on the right place....is there a component  in p.s. that could be bad that all dcv depend on.....I dont see any.....It's been awile but I think I checked all the capacitors and at least 2 of the bridge rectifiers......I remember thinking ..man thats alot of unsoldering in a tight place......anyway any help would be greatly apprieciated.......mark

Does the power supply still have the noise filter in it? The noise filter is a little black plastic box with the name TOKIN on it.
If it's still there, get rid of it!

With the noise filter gone not much that be bad except the coil itself. Trace power (110vac) to and from top two 4amp fuses, main switch, and then to coil.

I've done that and have all the AC voltages......Thats why I think I'm not checking the DC pins right....Where do I put  my black lead on meter to make loop thru meter

Pins #7 or #10 will be ground and dc voltages should show up with either one.

Error 41 is Reel #1 malfunction.
Make sure the reel is not touch anything, like wires or reel frame, while spinning.
Is the reel spinning at all?? What are the symptoms??

The reels do not spin....Ive changed connectors with reel # 2 and got the same code ...after a complete reset, Ill drop in a coin, pull handle and it goes into a tilt mode....One of the coin in meters acts like it wants  to advance(makes a rattling noise) ....thanks Uniman for your support.....Mark
