Title: Reel #1 spins free
Post by: 777tow on October 24, 2012, 03:42:52 AM
Ok.....so I popped my cherry fixing a few things and it turned out really well. I am back......I pulled #1 Reel out to get to screws for player tracking bracket. I replaced the reel after finishing and now reel #1 does not spin. I know there is something about making sure the reel is seated properly on the motor. Is this right? Anything else I should do? Thanks in advance!

Eric

What I meant by spins free is that I can spin the reel freely, and I no longer feel the notchings....if thats what you call it.....:) Thanks!

I believe you did not get the reel assembly seated in the machine correctly it can shift a bit (Been There Done It)
try pulling it out and pushing it back in again.
the notch feel you get is from the reel motor trying to hold the reel still
I bet the machine still shows reels disconnected as well.

Stupid question, but I have to ask  :103-...You did turn the machine off before you pulled the reel? correct

Foster, tried putting the reel back for a total of 6 times before it worked again. dunno..maybe just one of those things, but I know the reel was seated correctly for sure. I made sure of that. Oh well...its fixed though. Thanks !

Coors....LOL ! I am probably the most careful person here. Me and electricity dont get along. Before I touch anything in there, I always turn off the machine ! LOL !
