Title: SENTINEL II Post by: 777tow on October 24, 2012, 05:37:36 AM I have a IGT S2000. I ordered a player tracking bracket and panel and also recieved the Sentinel II that supposedly goes with it. I really want the led board to work and see what is programmed on there. Can I do that?
Also, I want to hook this up, but this is out of my league. I am not good in electronics. I figured I would give it a try and see if someone may have pictures of wiring hook ups, or just plain knowledge of getting the led panel to operate. While researching this, I have also seen some other posts about player tracking but I am only interested in having the message displayed. Any help or knowledge would be truly appreciated. Willing to learn here! Thanks! Eric Title: Re: SENTINEL II Post by: Foster on October 24, 2012, 09:43:00 AM Please post pictures of the Sentinel II
I cant think of what a Sentinel II would be. Title: Re: SENTINEL II Post by: 777tow on October 24, 2012, 03:46:40 PM Foster....Casino Data Systems Sentinel II ? I'll post a pic when I get home....
Title: Re: SENTINEL II Post by: 777tow on October 24, 2012, 09:09:02 PM Here is the picture of the Casino data Systems (CDS) board. I found where 4 of the 9 wires go. Probably gonna need help with the wires that connect to places inside the machine.

Title: Re: SENTINEL II Post by: 777tow on October 24, 2012, 09:37:40 PM Thanks coors.....I figured.......I am used to ground as black.....ok...more pics to come shortly. I took em with my phone and I have to resize em. So heres more what I found. There are 2 wires connected to the board. One is for Bank In, and the other is for Bank Out. I am assumming that these are not needed as either its for a data bank or something that ties in other machines that are hooked up for a progressive pay out. ( I see there is another wire that is marked as Progressive on another corner of the board). I am also assumming that the 2 wires for bank In and Bank out are NOT needed? Am I right? My goal is to just have a scolling message on the LED screen on the tracking panel. Comments?

Title: Re: SENTINEL II Post by: 777tow on October 24, 2012, 09:59:05 PM This wire is 3 wires wrapped together as one but 3 heads as you can see in the photo....what is this for? It is connected to the board where there are 22 prongs. Every 2 prongs are 1 section so 11 sections to plug things into. These wires as I trace them are connected to 9 and 11. Green and white wires to 9 and Red and Black wires to slot 11.

One end is split into 2 and connected in to the board marked RS-232 in 2 seperate places. This loose end goes to where? What is it for? This thing is most likely not going to display anything or at the most display disconnected. As most depended on backroom server for the info and messages. The rs232 will go to the netplex box behind the hopper on the back wall. The others look like power but these things usually had a transformer in the machine that powered them. Title: Re: SENTINEL II Post by: 777tow on October 25, 2012, 01:29:39 AM coors........it comes with a plug (A regular looking 120 home plug) that attaches to the board. I was going thru the belly of the machine, and was trying to see what plugs were missing a connection that macthed up with the plugs that are coming out from the board. I powered up the Player Tracking Board and it said No Connection Available.
As I understand it, there isnt really much I can do with it? Is there anyway that a message can be programmed into there besides the NO CONNECTION AVAILABLE? Would be nice to have a message or words besides that. Thanks in advance! I do not know of a way..the message comes from the server. The mastercom set ups you can program scrolling messages of your choice, the others no so, that I have figured out yet. I can help you with any mastercom message you want and contact RAZ on this site Or ebay for a mastercom setup to fit your machine. If you cannot get in touch with him let me know and I will get you two in touch. Title: Re: SENTINEL II Post by: 777tow on October 25, 2012, 02:29:50 AM Ok...thanks ! I appreciate your help. At least I learned many things today....appreciate you and Foster....
Title: Re: SENTINEL II Post by: idesign on October 25, 2012, 10:11:28 AM I have one of those and changed the message to PLEASE INSERT TICKET as an experiment. Most of the connections and the spaghetti of wires that comes with it can be removed. The card reader will not function with it either as well as the button panel. You are limited to the number of lettes (and spaces) in original message it displays I tried more words but it will not display anything at all if it exceeds the original number of letters (and spaces). No scrolling, just flashing a message.
Title: Re: SENTINEL II Post by: 777tow on October 26, 2012, 04:33:17 AM idesign,
Can you share your top secret information with me? Id like to change the letters to something better that No Connection Available...LOL ! Title: Re: SENTINEL II Post by: idesign on October 26, 2012, 08:54:20 AM Sure, just take the eprom (it has a paper label on it) out of the board, read the chip in an eprom burner, save it as a file and load the file up in a hex editor. Do a search on No Connection Available, change the words to whatever you like but stay within the original number of letters including the PERIOD (.), save the file and burn the file to a 27C040 chip. Insert the chip into the board and happy trails to you.
