I see posts from guys BITCHIN' about doing a ram clear on Bally's...are you guys NUTS? I just did my first clear and key on an S2000. Take out SB chip....put clear chip and turn on....wait for 2 amber lights (if you have the right clear chip) do that 2,3,4,7,9, times (what  ever). turn off, take out clear chip, put in SB chip, turn on, wait to see this massage, that message, the other message. Turn off, take out SB chip, put in key chip (hope that damn thing chip is the right one) turn on, More amber lights....turn off, you guessed it put SB chip back in, turn on......NOW for the fun part, the menu's 3 this, 7 that, 3.2.4.3.2.1 and 7.6.7.5.3.4.2.1. You need a damn road map. well anyway it's done. Bally's.....a trained chimp can do them. WOW.....do I feel better now!

But seriously, Bally does get a bad rap. I have never understood it.

I can set a Bally up a lot faster than an IGT.
I always had IGT . When I got my first Bally I thought it was a nightmare until I did the 2nd one.
Raz walked me thru my first one, he was a good teacher.

The only bad thing I can say about a Bally slot, a 6000 in my case, is that the 3.6 v battery has a short life.

i had my bally monte carlo now for almost 2 years never changed a battery on it yet, whats my time frame till my battery craps out? i dread having to reset a bally..... i try running the machine once a week or so.....

Don't sweat it...it's easy.  I would guess you have 3 days left on your battery.

Talk about a jinx. About a week ago I told a guy that I never had to replace a battery in an igt 2000. 2 days later I
have one come up main battery low.

dammmm thats weird..... i dont mind igt's there easy to  change battery and do a clear but i never messed with a bally before......but im sure ill get great help from you guys on here so im not to worried.....

The one igt I have to change battery in is LOADED up with solder on both side of board. That is a pain in the you know what.

most of the time I just clip the leads and solder to the ends carefully so as not to disturb the original solder joints. Much easier.

That's what I do on Bally. Next time I'll try it on igt.

I don't have enough patients or solder wick to mess with a double sided board that gona cost me $60.00 or $70.00 to replace when I F**k it up.

just solder a battery pack lead(s) to the existing battery leads then clip bad battery off
