Title: Topper and Toggle Switch Post by: Italian Stallion on October 26, 2012, 09:19:34 PM Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about installing a toggle switch to my IGT S2000 slot machine. Although the topper is beautiful when it's lit and operating, while watching a dvd movie we would like the room lighting a little more subdued by turning off the topper without shutting down the slot machine. I am basically a newbie and I'll probably need help from a friend. My first question: Can this be done? I think the candle has it's own wiring so it might not interfere with the topper wiring and still work with the slot. right or wrong? My second question: Has anyone out there accomplished this, and if so can you explain how it was done? I'm hoping to get some very educated answers from some very educated and tech savy members out there. Thanks so much, Rick Title: Re: Topper and Toggle Switch Post by: coorslight115 on October 26, 2012, 10:53:12 PM Hi everyone, I'm thinking about installing a toggle switch to my IGT S2000 slot machine. Thanks so much, Rick Very simple to do..You need (2) toggle switches, a drill with a bit the size of the toggle switch and a solder iron and solder, or crimp terminals and a switch with push on connectors. You will drill a hole in the back of the topper and install the switches . If this is what you want i will provide details on which wires you need to cut and install the switch on. One for the chaser lights and one for the main back light. You should be able to get the info on what color wires are the "hot" wires. Simply clip those, and run through the switch to be able to select when the topper is getting it's power or not. Should be pretty easy. If it were me, I would drill the switch hole on the back of the top box of the cabinet to keep it hidden. Simply reach back and flip the switch. :-)

Coors was typing away as I was typing away. Two responses in the same minute. Title: Re: Topper and Toggle Switch Post by: Italian Stallion on October 26, 2012, 11:55:21 PM Guys,
Thanks so much for the help. Coorslight, so if I understand you right, I will need 2 switches? So 1 switch won't work with both the chaser light and the main back light wires I take it. You mean the backight on the topper and not the machine itself correct? I did mention that these are Newbie questions. The details from you on which wires to cut would be great. mvco, thanks to you for the advice. I will try the topper thread section. I was planning to mount the switch(s) on the back. You guys really helped. IGT Double 3X4X5X Roundtop Rick |
