Title: S2000 Key hole power switch
Post by: TheChad on November 03, 2012, 11:14:13 PM
Hey all,

So I was thinking,  it would be nice to have a switch on the outside of the machine to shut it off with out having to open the door every time..

Yeah.. I know.. Someone is inevitably going to say "Just put it on a power strip and shut the power strip off"

Well.. That isn't possible in this case as to where it's located and the power strip that it's attached to can't be shut off easily.

Anyway, there is a 2nd key hole in front of the Jackpot reset key..  Not sure what it was used for? (Anyone know?)  But it's just a hole now with nothing in it..

I was wondering if there was a way to put an On/Off key in this hole.  Basically a key that would turn the machine on and off,  It doesn't have to be a key, it could just be a switch..

Has anyone ever done this before?

Thanks!

the second keyhole is normally where a W-2 switch would go.
as for the power i never put a switch but i have replaced mine with a relay and put a monentary switch where the orginal was, i then can control the relay remotely to turn on and off the machine

you will need a douple pole single throw(DPST) switch

What is W-2?

Do you have any pictures/info on your relay setup?

Thanks,

w-2 is what you get in US casino win you win 1200 or more, on high dollar machines some casinos can use the key to add to a w-2 and leave credits on machine, then when done they will give you a w-2g for the total winning of all wins over 1200$

i will take some pictures for you

Oh, LOL.  I never knew they did such a thing..  I'm assuming that switch went along with the player tracking system.

Chad in more layman terms, the second switch puts the excessive credits back to the machine if the player wanted. On a Bally machine it is used for Tournement play. If you just want a simple on / off switch that you can put in the hole where the second switch goes, I can help you do that..  PM me if interested
