Title: How to repair the backlight behind numbers on a BALLY cash wheel bonus round.
Post by: SLOTJUNKY on November 07, 2012, 12:19:05 AM
If you find on a Bally 6000 with progressive either Monte Carlo or cash wheel or other similar Bally machines with no back light behind the award numbers on the bonus wheel  :103- there is a solution I found. If you remove the progressive glass and look against the back wall there is a controller. On the left top side you will see a 4 pin white Molex plug with one wire with an orange stripe second wire from the left if memory serves me correctly (don't worry there is only one wire in the plug) which goes to the top box that houses the bonus wheel. On the left side you will see the wire plugged into that power supply  :95-. Examine the plug behind the progressive thoroughly for any discoloration like the reel Molex plug on the mother board that has 6 pins that plug into the power supply on the IGT S+ that goes bad often. If it looks sorta brown in that pin touch up the solder on that pin on the board after you remove the board, clean the pin completely and change the 4 pin female Molex plug . last put one more female socket on the far right so the plug cannot wiggle. It does when there is only one pin and that will solve that problem due to poor contact and overheating. Check continuity of the circuit and reassemble and the problem should be solved :3-. If all goes well the lights when you turn the slot machine back on will work with no more problems. I hope if you have this problem this solves it.
