I have a Triple Diamond machine and i have been hearing that there is a Mystery Chip that will work in my machine.  What does it do and were do i get one at?

Mystery reel action.. it "randomly" nudges symbols to the payline.

You didn't state how many coins your game uses. The link above points to the three-coin version, which is the more common in home use. If you have a two-coin version, then you will need to look at this page:

What you will need to do is to purchase one of the reel chips listed on the page link that matches your machine's coin version from one of our vendors. The first column, labeled "Prog#'s", contains the SS# that the vendor will need. Since these are old slots, there are no guarantees of all of the chips listed being available. Most home users try to get the highest payback possible because it's more enjoyable.

For example: If your Triple Diamond is a 3-coin machine, you would be looking for the SS8189 - SS8192. The SS8192 would be the highest payback, but may not be available.


Important: In addition to that chip you will also need a different game chip, and a set chip to turn your bill validator (dbv) on again after the game chip change. I read your previous posts and see that you already have a SET chip and an SP1271.

It is necessary to change Game chips because the regular Triple Diamond is a Type 0 game and the Mystery Action is a Type 23. You will need either an SP654 or an SP1306 game chip. I would recommend the SP1306, especially since you have a preference for the newer generation of chips (SP1271 vs. SP731)

You already have a SET chip, but for others reading this thread, a SET015 or SET026 is needed to turn the dbv back on after changing the game chip.

Then you will need a reel chip between SS8188 - SS8192. I don't think that you will be able to find anything higher than the SS8189, but good luck. Don't forget to get the game chip too.

They Mystery Nudge sounds pretty cool -
It's too bad they don't make a haywire mystery game.   That would be nice.

In order to do that, you'd probably have to rearrange the Haywire symbols to match a Mystery strip and have Kinkos print and laminate it.


A simple copy and paste method would work....? Save the rearranged symbols to a zip drive and bring it over to Kinko's or some good printer shop that has a computer.

Is there a type game for that though?  Mystery nudge and random haywire?

I began for a moment to sit down and try to locate a "Type" chip that could play the way you're asking...
but have you ever sat down and tried to read the list of "Game Types"?
There's like over 120 different game types....I couldnt get through it all...I fell asleep in my chair!  :149-

Well Haywires are "random" to begin with.  You could just then take Haywire deluxe, remove the lighting bolts from the graphics and you would have "Mystery" reel action.  :5- :5- :5- :5-

My ultimate goal would be to program my own SS chip.   Has anyone done that?   By program I mean write my own code for it. 

The thing about the haywire function they are actually in the paytable if you do a paytable test with a older SP chip for the haywire tupe games.

It will show you each payout and when you see funny amounts for the symbols shown you will realize it is a haywire play and pay.
