Title: TOAPLAN OUTZONE Repair Log Post by: Zabanitu on November 18, 2012, 11:10:53 PM this one came with corrupted sprites.
after i found how to read the 28 pin 1Mbit mask roms i've found they were 90% different than mame dump, one was also spitting out different data every read. so i replaced the mask roms with 27c010 eproms, by finding the right jumper configuration just under the 4 eprom sockets. have a look at the attachment too. ************************************************ replaced 23c1000 dip 28 mask rom with 27c010 original jumpers with mask rom JP 7 (A16) Jumper settings for dip 32 27c010 eprom replacement JP 8 (/OE to gnd) JP 9 (A16) jumper for dip 32 27c301/27c1000 JP10 (/OE to gnd) JP7 (A16) ************************************************* ***info from dataman forums *** The 23c1000 was a maskrom made by NEC, it seems to be very common in some of the older arcade PCB's Its complete name taken from the ROM is D23C1000AC and is a DIP package The pinout is as follows: A15.|1..........28|.VCC A12.|2..........27|.A14 A7.|3...........26|.A13 A6.|4...........25|.A8 A5.|5...........24|.A9 A4.|6...........23|.A11 A3.|7...........22|.A16 A2.|8...........21|.A10 A1.|9...........20|./CE A0.|10..........19|.D7 D0.|11..........18|.D6 D1.|12..........17|.D5 D2.|13..........16|.D4 GND.|14........15|.D3 As you can see its pin compatible with a 27c301 but with an the extra /OE and programming lines removed. *** /info *** (1M) 128k x 8 EPROM (NH27C301) (NEC27C1000) Vpp 1 +-v-+ 32 Vcc OE 2 | | 31 PGM/ A15 3 | | 30 nc A12 4 | | 29 A14 A7 5 | | 28 A13 A6 6 | | 27 A8 A5 7 | | 26 A9 A4 8 | | 25 A11 A3 9 | | 24 A16 A2 10 | | 23 A10 A1 11 | | 22 CE/ A0 12 | | 21 D7 D0 13 | | 20 D6 D1 14 | | 19 D5 D2 15 | | 18 D4 GND 16 +---+ 17 D3 (1M) 128k x 8 mask rom (TC53C1001) JEDEC 128k x 8 EPROM 27C010 nc 1 +-v-+ 32 Vdd Vpp 1 +-v-+ 32 Vcc A16 2 | | 31 nc A16 2 | | 31 pgm/ A15 3 | | 30 nc A15 3 | | 30 nc A12 4 | | 29 A14 A12 4 | | 29 A14 A7 5 | | 28 A13 A7 5 | | 28 A13 A6 6 | | 27 A8 A6 6 | | 27 A8 A5 7 | | 26 A9 A5 7 | | 26 A9 A4 8 | | 25 A11 A4 8 | | 25 A11 A3 9 | | 24 OE/ A3 9 | | 24 OE/ A2 10 | | 23 A10 A2 10 | | 23 A10 A1 11 | | 22 CE/ A1 11 | | 22 CE/ A0 12 | | 21 D7 A0 12 | | 21 D7 D0 13 | | 20 D6 D0 13 | | 20 D6 D1 14 | | 19 D5 D1 14 | | 19 D5 D2 15 | | 18 D4 D2 15 | | 18 D4 GND 16 +---+ 17 D3 GND 16 +---+ 17 D3 Title: Re: TOAPLAN OUTZONE Repair Log Post by: porchy on January 09, 2013, 03:13:29 PM Nice one mate.
That was actually my post on the dataman forum as I got them to add it to the supported device list. Makes life a little easier. Title: Re: TOAPLAN OUTZONE Repair Log Post by: Zabanitu on January 09, 2013, 10:14:46 PM Nice to meet you here too !!!!
