Title: Mikohn Progressive Help Needed
Post by: WILDCHERRY21 on November 20, 2012, 09:06:01 PM
I have a Mikohn Cham2+ system and I'm putting it in a IGT S2000 but I'm not sure where all these wires go. Does someone have a step buy step on how all the wires are run from the control box to the meter, machine and power source?  Heres what I hooked up so far. maybe you guys can let me know if I'm heading in the right direction. That grey wire I belive is the one from the control board J7 and goes to the mother board J15 progressive spot.? What's that Red 4 hole connector for that's on the end on the grey wire? and where does the power source plug into the machine? Any help would rock Thanks. :103-

Hi WildCherry!

CHAMII+ Control Board and power box
There's a square red plug that goes into the power box of the CHAMII+.
Off that square red plug are 2 two-pin power cords: one plugs to the Control Board right above the red square plug and one plugs to the Display on the right side.
Those to plugs power both the board and the display.
Finally, you need a power cord (same kind you use for a Monitor or PC) to power the power supply underneath the Control Board.  It goes from the CHAMII+ power box to an outlet.
Then, you plug the Control Board to the Display and the slot.

CHAMII+ Display
The display requires both power and messaging.
As noted above, one of the two-pin plugs from the red square power cord goes on the right-hand side of the display.
The gray flat ribbon cable goes from the Control Board to the Display.  I don't recall the J#, but it's located right next to Switch 1 and Switch 2 on the Control Board for adjusting the display settings.  On the Display, it goes in the middle plug like you've got it.

S2000
Finally, you need to send a message to the slot machine.
For this, you use the black cable from J7 to the S2000.  I think you're right about J15 ... you'd have to check the manual or someone else can chime in.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Dave for your input it will be a great help. :) On the power cord your talking about from the power supply the one thats like a computer cord. Someone must have made the end of my cord to go into the machine to get power instead of the wall outlet because there some sort of 3 hole Molex
Connection on the end. Any thoughts on that? Looks like there is a spot for it on the back wall of the machine on the power supply. Thanks

Hmm ... I don't own an S2000 myself, but I'm thinking that the 4-pin Molex was designed for an IO card for the upper cabinet.  Then, the card would have a separate harness that goes to the power supply.  To be safe, you could just use a PC or monitor cord directly to an outlet.  The downside to that is, everything you turn off the machine, you have to separately turn off the CHAMII+.

Sorry ... I'm going to have to defer to an S2000 expert on powering the Mikohn CHAMII+ power supply with a 4-pin Molex plug.

Happy Thanksgiving!
