In a bunch I just bought, I just bought an IGT 5 reel S2000 with an R board for $250.00. I would PASS if it were me

Triple Play is a cool game actually.  I would ask him to plug it in, and see what is wrong if you are up on the S-Plus games.  If it just comes up with a 12 error code, all you would need is a 8.00 battery to repair and be playing.eems like all the broken ones that come up for sale around our area usually just need a battery, or some other 5 minute quick repair.

Ignore this if you are not up to speed with working on an S-Plus

Even at $250 there's still some profit. S+ are generally cheap to fix, but not so easy to decipher for the home user...but you're in luck, as you found NLG!  :89-  Just about every problem with an S+ has been covered here.

Plus a couple, three hundred bucks shipping cost.

Go and check it out, See if it has all the parts. Hopper, Coin mech,. Etc.
It looks like a  Dollar machine, so you will need to find a bunch of Ike's, or tokens, or convert it to something else.
Depending on where you live, $250 may be a decent price, but your profile does not say where you are.

If you can go see it, plug it in, is it totally dead, starts up and stops, check any error codes, take pictures.

With more info, we can better help with your decision.

That's a good deal. I'd go for that instead of a S+
