Title: Newbie Question
Post by: Glasact on November 30, 2012, 01:52:44 PM
First off its an IGT S2000 machine.  Actually two of them.  They both came out of Harrah's somewhere down south.  They both have this same device in them.  It just doesn't look like it belongs there.  I think it had something to do with security or communication and I was going to just remove them, but since I know nothing about the inside of these machines I wanted to see what they may be used for.  I don't want to remove something that I may need later for an add on of some kind.  They are the tan boxes seen in the pictures that run from the top box into the reel box.  They look to have telephone connectors of some kind on each end and the wires are tightly wrapped around the little boxes.  What are they and should I just remove them? :99-

Thanks,
Mark

Thats much better to see... and its definitely for player tracking. It can be removed

Its a cord that runs from the card reader to the screen.

Thanks for the quick replys!  :88-  I do want to add a player tracking panel with a card reader (Just to cover the holes and make it look better) :96- Don't know if I'll try to make it functional, but I think I'll just leave them in the machines for now. It's nice to know what it is anyway. :96-

Yeah, that's just a phone line with a magnet block to keep the signal clean, they must have installed some kind of comm like a modem.
