Title: I Game Validator
Post by: SilverFerret on December 07, 2012, 08:54:52 PM
Lately my validator has been getting sluggish accepting cash and has given some errors but after pulling it out and putting it back in, it's worked. Now it seems to struggle to accept bills and then spits them back out without registering them. Any ideas what need to be done to correct this issue?
Thanks, Jim

And if I get a replacement, does it need to be clear chipped or can it just replace the other and start working?
Also I've gotten some comm errors from the bill validator. Does it need to be clear chipped again to get this one working?
Thanks, Jim

Jim  There are a bunch of threads on cleaning and lubing your WBA. No you will not need a clear chip. Sometimes you will have to go into set up and calculate the CRC, it's no big deal.

Hi Buzz,
It seems to be operating a bit better since a little oiling but it just wont accept bills where before today, it would accept everything but the new $5's and $10's.
There are no errors and I calculated the crc (whatever that does) and alse did the bill validator test and even though it says it will accept the next bill, it doesn't.
My limited experience is frustrating but it's just another page in my mental rolodex.
Thanks, Jim

Jim  Open up the BV head, spit on a rag and smear your DNA all over the optics. Do not use a paper towel, paper is made from wood and wood will scratch the plastic optics.

Which model transport do you have a 12 or 13 ? If no tag on the transport look at the bottom and see if it has a eprom. It should take the new fives and tens.

Hey Buzz,
One sticker says wba-12-ss, and another says wba-12/13-ss
Where are the optics? Are they right before the bill goes into the stacker box? If so they're hard to get at. Would a Q-tip work?
Thanks, Jim

Jim  Two small ears on each side of the head, pull them toward yourself and the top will open up to the optics.

Okay, did that and no difference.
Everything seems to be in order accept it won't register the bills and gives them right back.
Hey Buzz, did you ever find out anything about the program "American Thunder"?
Also did you check to see if you had any players club devices for a "17 I Game or a cover plate for where players club stuff would go?
Thanks, Jim

Although it is in my garage right now and it was probably high 50's but the machine was on for quite some time so it should have warmed itself a bit.
Thanks, Jim

This morning it accepted one $1.00 bill and hasn't accepted one since. Think it's the optics? I am getting a lot of stacker errors when putting it back in and have to re-insert it sometimes a couple of times before it loads up correctly.
Thanks, Jim
