Title: Converting a Williams Defender to Mame
Post by: jbshocks on December 10, 2012, 10:57:56 PM
I just bought a Williams defender that was rebuilt to a SEGA Shinobi in the 80's which is a sega 16 system.  When they did the conversion they switched to the JAMMA wiring.  The machine is fully functional and has the original williams monitor, transformer and power supply.  I want to put the machine back to playing defender or stargate but I was thinking a multigame system may be the better way to go.  The way I see it there are 2 options, 1 buy one of the multi jamma boards that has defender. Option 2 install a PC and run mame.   With option one I assume since the machine is already set up for jamma that I am likely plug and play.  If I go the mame route, what is the best way to do it.  I have seen a j-pac jamma to mame adapter,  is that a good way to go?  If not any other suggestions or recommendations on where to find more info?
