Title: S+ Coin Comparitor voltage Post by: spuggyroo on December 28, 2012, 02:09:11 AM Hello,
I have a S+ that appears to be working except for the coin comparitor. I do not have a green light on the comparitor and I do not have 24VDC, I do however seem to have 24VAC to the comparitor, which would explain why it does not work. Is there a bridge rectifier somewhere that converts 24VAC to VDC, and if so is there anything else that runs off of it? Where would I find it in the machine, or should I replace the whole power supply? Thanks for your help. Title: Re: S+ Coin Comparitor voltage Post by: Buzz on December 28, 2012, 02:50:53 AM This was posted a couple of days ago, the light on the comparator will not light with the main door open on a IGT S+ machine. ( S 2000 & Game King it will ) The only two ways I can tell you how to check if the the light is working, first remove the comparator from the bracket, open the belly glass door place the comparator where you can see it and close the main door. The other way would be, bypass the main door optics.
Before you go and buy a bunch of parts, let's test the comparator. ( I don't think this is in the IGT hand book ) On the back side of the comparator block the rake open with a folded up piece of paper. reinstall the comparator, close the main door and drop in a coin. If the coin was counted as a good coin, your comparator is BAD, it it was not counted, you are having problems with the coin optics located right below the comparator. I didn't realize the comparator runs on AC (it says DC on it...) and that it only works with the door closed. I was able to trace the problem to a bad molex plug connection.
Thanks again... |
