Title: R board ????
Post by: FORDSBS on January 04, 2013, 09:03:01 PM
Can someone tell me what is good about the R board on a 2000? Only thing I found out is if you want to change game you need another board which is $$$$$.

I'm thinking the 504 Rev B's are the boards to hoard.  No need for green batteries either.

Larger number of paylines equals more revenue for the casino.
The 27C4002 chips were maxed out with the 180 and 360 credits. At that point, they dropped the enhanced sounds for the expanded paytables.

On the specialty games the sound does not suck-It is awesome.  The r board was conceived to prevent hacking and spreading the software around on a lot of them.  Chip forms of each r board do exist for the rare themes but near impossible to find. Dsv sound also but again -Near impossible---They kept that stuff at Reno!---B.

Maybe I'm just not familiar with the R board.  Are they only for the multi line 5 reel games?

Jason, I don't know if they're specific to five reel games, but they were predominant in the waning years of the S2000 platform for all games

They were used and are used on ALL the s-2000 games---3,4,5 reel etc.  Thanks B. This setup is still on floors on many esp. the themed special games etc..  They used on some generic ones also which is what you have.  They  started that mess a long time ago.  The R boards are convinant in the aspect as everything is "loaded" on board (with proper boot chip etc.).  Most boots are same though.  The enhanced setup will save you money in future as far as batteries, upgrade possibilities etc.. Nothing wrong with the platform in my opinion.

True Jason, I went thru my backup boards & found out I'm out of the 504. I like to keep 1 or 2 on hand.
