Title: Handle Issue
Post by: David B Fowler on January 09, 2013, 09:47:09 PM
Being new to Bally EM's I need to ask before I take apart stuff. When I pull the handle down sloooowly, it engages and will spin the wheels fine. If I pull quickly, it will either skip down witout spinning or it makes the wheels bump without spinning and acts as if it did spin, paying out if there was one on the wheel before. Which sucks if the is 3 bars because it pays an additional 100 coins. I hope there is an easy fix or adjustment without having to take apart the handle gear box. Please let me know.

There's a little pawl on the rear right side of the reel mech, that needs to engage to get the reels to kick off.  Make sure it is well oiled and free to move.  It has a small spring on it, and is engaged in a round about way to the pump arm.  I don't think the problem is in the handle box itself....  You can check by removing reel mech and engaging handle without the mech in.  I've posted a 5 part series on here, on how to fix/check your new machine.  Should be info on one of those posts on how to check handle..., and they're fairly short reads.
Also, if it hits a pay, just push down on the coin in switch, and move one of the reels down to cut off the pay.
