Title: SB001000 in a S2000? Post by: wireless73 on January 11, 2013, 11:46:32 PM New issue has come up. Last night I got to the point of being able to put money in this machine and use it after a clear and key. After 25 or so no wins the machine lands on this bar - 7 - bar and pays me 20 credits. The machine is set to .25 denomination and I was playing the max 2 credits. First I thought this was odd because the glass does not show a "20" credit win anywhere. Second why pay on a bar - 7 - bar. This got me to read in to my SB chip and SG chip. Can someone tell me if these chips are correct? Based on what I read so far I don't have a S2000 SB chip in this machine. If these chips are not correct, can someone layout what chips I should have - in addition and if it matters - I would like to set this up as a four denomination choice if I am going to have to replace one (or more?)

That is because you have a Double Diamond Deluxe SS Chip installed Not 2cm Triple Cash, you should have something like a SS6220 in there http://www.newlifegames.net/igtbible/IGT%202CM/Game%20Library%20-%20S-Plus%20-%20Triple%20Cash%20%282%20Coin%20Multiplier%29.htm (http://www.newlifegames.net/igtbible/IGT%202CM/Game%20Library%20-%20S-Plus%20-%20Triple%20Cash%20%282%20Coin%20Multiplier%29.htm) But the easiest thing would be to scrap the SB1000 and SS chip and get a SB100074 and be done Title: Re: SB001000 in a S2000? Post by: cowboygames on January 12, 2013, 12:28:04 AM Can't he just get the correct SB chip and ditch the SB001000 and SS chips?
Title: Re: SB001000 in a S2000? Post by: blueridgeslots on January 12, 2013, 02:05:10 AM Hmmmmmm.... didn't my last sentence mention that with correct SB number?
Title: Re: SB001000 in a S2000? Post by: wireless73 on January 12, 2013, 04:21:40 AM Thanks Blue. I will try to find a SB100074 out there for sale. If that takes care of the SB, do I need to replace the SG1 and SG2 chips with something else as well?
Title: Re: SB001000 in a S2000? Post by: Foster on January 12, 2013, 04:30:05 AM I would update to SG000598 or at least SG000363
t will eliminate the WAMM or IPC problem 363 and 598 auto config for WAMM Title: Re: SB001000 in a S2000? Post by: cowboygames on January 12, 2013, 10:28:44 AM Hmmmmmm.... didn't my last sentence mention that with correct SB number? Crap, sorry Blueridge, don't know how I missed that. Got in a hurry I guess...Title: Re: SB001000 in a S2000? Post by: wireless73 on January 25, 2013, 12:13:53 AM Hello all. here is where I am at with these chips. I replaced my SB001000 with SB100074. I replaced the SG's SG000312 with SG000598 (both 1 of 2 and 2 of 2). I also replaced my version chip VS011GX0 with VS011GX1. I ran through the S2000 RAM CLEAR and KEY SET UP FOR HOME USE S2000 posted by STAZ in another thread. I get to the point of "Remove the MPU, ground yourself, replace the Key Chip with your SB Chip and return the board to the machine. While leaving the door open, power the machine back on. After the machine cycles, you should receive a message on the door LED that reads "7 KEY CHIP CONFIG".
I don't get the 7 key menu option, the machine will do one of two things - 50% of the time each. 1) The display will read like it is up and running fine (less a bill validator error) or 2) EEPROM Error. Two questions: I have a S-Plus Reel (120NS) MECH SS4252 installed still. This appears to be wrong. Should my machine work with this chip? If so then 2) how can I tell which EEPROM has the error? I was thinking of replacing the 598 SG's with 523's but didn't know if I should spend the time on doing that or buying some MECH chips and finding the right one. Everything is seated correctly and I have gone through the clear and key process 2x with the same results. There are no credits in the machine. Thanks for any suggestions. Title: Re: SB001000 in a S2000? Post by: cowboygames on January 25, 2013, 12:23:56 AM With the SB100074 installed the ss chip has to go. The SB eliminated the need for the ss and that's probably what's causing your eprom error
Title: Re: SB001000 in a S2000? Post by: wireless73 on January 25, 2013, 12:48:36 AM Thanks for that tip cowboy. Below was my process and I feel like I should start with different fresh chips, but using all the same SB's, SG's and version. This time I will do everything without the 4252 chip installed on the board. One other question - when I do the clear and key should I (or can I?) still use a 224 clear and a 45 key?
Turned off machine Pulled MPU removed the SS4252 reseated the board turned the machine on and left the door open Testing memory displayed Alarm sounded turned reset key one time and message EEPROM CRC FAILURE -0x1 displayed turned the key again and got NON-RECOVERABLE DATA ERROR shut off the machine and wrote this post. Thanks Title: Re: SB001000 in a S2000? Post by: cowboygames on January 25, 2013, 12:59:02 AM Jackpot key would of carrried you through
