Title: S 2000 WBA 12/13 Post by: Buzz on January 12, 2013, 04:29:24 PM I'm sure this has been covered on this site, every thing has but I don't recall ever reading it.
I have this one WBA BV that I have marked NFG but for some reason I think by testing it every now and then it's going to heal it self. The part about this BV is all the cycle sounds are correct. I've learned if they don't sound right whey they cycle are not going to work. I decided last night to use a Tabasco for a test machine, of course the bad BV still didn't work, so I went to IO test 4.3 Auto config Net Plex Devices. VFD changed to " Bill Acceptor Not Responding." I switched around heads and transports and nothing worked, so put the good transport and head back in the machine and it didn't work either. Fast forward this story I ended up with 5 known good BVs and one bad one, 4 machines and none of the machines had a good working BV Here is the solution to the problem. Anytime you do the IO test 4.3 and get "Bill Acceptor Not Responding" I don't know if that should be called a error or not but in this case I will, That Bill Acceptor error will be locked into the machine. You can open and close the main door latch until the cows come home and it will not clear. Install a known good BV and it will not work until you do the 4.3 test again with the good BV. ( one machine I had to do the 4.3 twice to get it to work) Anyone want to test this, pull you BV out about a inch, do the 4.3 test. push the BV back in and see if it will work. Buzz...wow..this REALLY came in handy today!!! i had the same issue, as no wba's worked in 1 machine, but worked in many others..and the others would not work in 1 machine...i happened to run across this and i thought, why the hell not try...it worked!!! saved me a ton of headaches....THANKS!!! Kudos plus to ya! I have to try that sometime! :71- Of course, I wonder if running a Clear chip would get rid of the "stuck" error logic signal? :128- Title: Re: S 2000 WBA 12/13 Post by: Buzz on March 28, 2013, 03:19:53 AM No Sir, Auto Config is the only way I have found to fix the problem.
Couple of months ago I bought 20 WBA 13 Transports and was doing all that silly stuff to them, updated epropms, lube, clean, and calibrate. Was using a Haywire S 2000 as a test platform. Same old story, screw around with a perfectly good machine sooner than later your going to bust it. I put a WBA in the machine and had to go to 4.3 and auto config bigger than hell it gives me a " No Display " error. Now that's about a stupid error, if the display wasn't working you couldn't read " No Display " it would be blank !! After two or 3 clear and keys, couple of sets of IOs and MPUs, for some reason I pulled the BV out and the " No Display " error cleared. Now what a BV has to do with a display I don't have a clue. Anyway I installed a known good BV and it would not work until I went to 4.3 and Auto Config the BV. Mind you I had just did 2 or 3 clears. My conclusions to all this is Slot Machines hate me.
