Title: Help Identifying Video Poker Machine
Post by: steelcitykid on March 05, 2009, 12:38:26 PM
I am new to the site. It looks very helpful. I got this poker machine in a package deal with some bingo machines. Anyone know what model and year this is? Are parts readily available? Thanks for any help.

Hey steelcitykid!,
Welcome to NLG :3-
There's quite a few Bally guys and they'll chime in real soon to help ya.
There's usually stickers and various stamps inside that'll help you determine the year.
There might be a metal tag on the back near where the plug comes out too.
That's a oldie but goodie machine....nice find! You have a blast restoring that old baby...

looks like a Bally V1000 - if it has a 4 board stack of boards under the monitor its a v1000 - if only 3 then its a v2000 (I doublt that because of the small pushbuttons).  V1000s are a bear to get running.

barry: it does have a stack of 4 boards. you say it is a problem child? things light up, it clicks once in a while, but no picture on monitor. buddy had a '65 442. green, factory 4sp. black interior, and unusual am/fm/sw factory radio in it. so is it worth getting into this v1000? i like to tinker. i like abuse.

I know of noone who will fix - make sure all the connections to the boards - there are bunch of connectors on the left and some on the right side = plus the board on the front that ties the boards together.

My buddy had one of these. We worked on it for weeks, but never got it going. Eventually we gave up and he set it out by the trash dumpster. Before he even made it back to his front door, he saw a couple loading it into their car... Maybe this is the same one  :72-

FoxSlots, thanks for the advice. I removed all connectors and it lit up. there is a group of wires on the left side that is missing a connector. anybody know if these are used? on the screen it is in triplicate. I activated the coin switches and it delt a hand. I couldn't see the whole hand, so i randomly held some cards and hit draw. I must have got a hit. The hopper started spinning, and " hopper empty" flashed on the screen. I sent you an email on your ebay site about a manual for this machine. The tag on the side says E-1265 underneath it has 42. Thanks for the help.

I received my manual the other day. going through it I came to fig. 45 (if anybody has one) The connector on the bottom stack of boards in front on the left if you are facing it. Does anyone know how many wires are on this connector? Does anyone know the wire sequence to this connector? Does anyone know where I can locate one of these to repair it? It looks like wires were either pulled out or cut. The harness has 6 wires hanging from it that are just hanging there. I have a picture on the screen, but its distorted. The manual is FO-850-9. Thanks for any help.
