Title: S2000 Low Battery dilema Post by: cp on January 20, 2013, 09:05:44 PM Here's a new one I haven't seen before. I was clearing and programming S2000 reel. (original / older style board ...not the one with collapsible handle)... anyway...
Cleared and programmed... then the "low battery" error showed up. pulled the board. Installed fresh battery (the 3V battery)... Cleared and reprogrammed ... ans STILL came up with "low battery" .... pulled board... checked for 3V on the board / across dif sections. Found the 3 V all places checked. Put the board back in... still "low battery" . Any Ideas ??? Why would I still be getting low bat. ???? ( I grabbed another board off the shelf... cleared / reprogrammed and game is up and working. ) Thanks ! Title: Re: S2000 Low Battery dilema Post by: cp on January 20, 2013, 11:27:16 PM Yes... all the edge connector pins are good / straight.
( I don't think game would allow key chip and set up parameters if pin (s) bent on edge connector ) Thanks. Title: Re: S2000 Low Battery dilema Post by: cowboygames on January 21, 2013, 12:06:28 AM I was thinking the MPU probably has a dedicated pin to the motherboard for that low battery detect

R17 - 100k R18 - 1k R23 - 1M All have +/- 1% tolerance. More than likely one of them has climbed way out of tolerance and will cause the Low Battery error you're getting with a new battery installed. This same problem occurs with Igame/GK 3902 boards as it has the same battery voltage detection circuitry as the S2000 non enhanced MPUs, just the resistor numbers are different. K+ for the tip Tilt I have a few boards this happen to after I installed a new battery...will check those resistors out.
