Title: Help with a Bally set options Post by: JimSlot on January 27, 2013, 02:56:42 PM I was wondering if anyone has ever run into this problem with a Bally 6000. I did a complete CL successfully. I then put in my new mains chips and turned the machine on. The date showed up and I pressed the Change button. The machine was ready to play. I then pressed the Test button until 11d appeared. It then shows option 27. A this point my Spin button does not move to the next option and the Maxbet button does not change the value. I can only go to the next option by pressing the Psuedo Coin button.
By the way, the Spin and Maxbet buttons were previously working when playing the machine before the clear. The options that I'm trying to change are 61, 81, 64, 51, 56 ,58 Anyone have any idea why the Spin and Maxbets buttons don't work in changing the settings?? Thanks Jim Title: Re: Help with a Bally set options Post by: a69mopar on January 27, 2013, 04:30:59 PM Some of the older mains didn't use the buttons, instaed there was a switchabove the bill acceptor that was used in conjunction with the mpu butttons.

I tried the MPU out of the other machine I got from you...I did a clear and loaded another set of Mains chips. That MPU allowed me to use the Spin button to increase the option value and the Max Bet button to skip to the next option. Looks like it may be the MPU ??? or some configuration on the MPU?? Any ideas?? Thanks, Wayne Title: Re: Help with a Bally set options Post by: coorslight115 on January 27, 2013, 09:58:39 PM Since the boards and mains you have are all the same and they are 2003 mains that support printer, youdo not fall into the catagory discussed by Wayne. Yours should setup with the deck buttons. One mpu will and one mpu will not setup, It is a board issue. You live close enough that postage will be cheap. Send me the board and I will test it and set it up if possible with all the chips you need to get it going. If it is bad I will supply you with a replacement mpu fully setup and plug and play ready. If I get yours going, no charge...just return postage, if you need a new mpu I will supply it cheap.

Title: Re: Help with a Bally set options Post by: a69mopar on January 27, 2013, 10:17:50 PM I sometimes wonder if you guys act these things out. How do you know the mains are the same. That info wasn't shared here. And if they are, then he should check for bent pins at the connector prior to sending out the board. I have seen bent pins cause various issues such as this before.
W Title: Re: Help with a Bally set options Post by: JimSlot on January 27, 2013, 10:28:18 PM It's not an act... Coors actually supplied me with the mains so he knows they're the same. I've checked the pins with my magnifying visor and everything looks good.
Thanks coors for the offer. I think I may switch the mains between the boards to see if I can narrow down the problem. I'll keep you posted. Thanks all for your comments/help Title: Re: Help with a Bally set options Post by: coorslight115 on January 27, 2013, 11:33:48 PM I sometimes wonder if you guys act these things out. I know the person he bought the machines from, I have seen the boards in them prior to him buying them as I showed the seller how to clear one and set it up, and I supplied the mains to the seller so I know they are 2003 printer mains. Title: Re: Help with a Bally set options Post by: JimSlot on January 29, 2013, 10:47:19 AM With the help of some folks on the forum I was able to fix my slot problem. I unplugged and re-plugged the connectors back in, made sure the MPU was firmly in place, and did another clear. I can now use the Spin and MaxBet buttons during setup of options!
