I just wanted to show everyone my LED conversion for my 1090 dollar machine. The old fashioned light bulbs were getting kind of dim and kept blowing a fuse for some reason. I was able to theorize that the problem was somewhere on top but could not pin point it. It seemed the more bulbs that were inserted, the worse the problem got. I removed all the bulbs except for the pay scale bulbs, of which only 4 are lit at a time. After searching for what seemed like forever to locate a short or voltage spike, I finally decided to do away with the bulbs and switch to LED's. I bought a strip of warm white LED lights from eBay for $12. The strip is 15 feet long and has 300 LED's on it. The strip has 3M double sided tape already on it. You can cut the strip every third LED and solder jumpers to it. The power supply was $8 extra and plugs in to a standard 115V outlet. I used a convienience outlet out of an E series machine, extended the wiring and soldered it to the line cord coming in to the machine, where the line cord is solderd to the fuses. I then plugged the power supply in to the outlet and ran the wire up to the top.
The result is no more bulbs or fuses blowing, and the feature glass is brighter now, but not too bright. The warm white lights were a good choice as opposed to the bright white LED's.
I also replaced the mechanical win meter with an LED win meter.

Last year at a pinball show I found a vendor http://www.cointaker.com that offered 6 volt LED's that would fit the #47 bayonet sockets in our EM's.  I just take an old 47 out and put the LED's in.  ALOT brighter and cooler running also.  Since they were a little pricey I only put the led's behind the award scale in my machines.  In this machine I also put them behind the Winning Pays Line also.  I like the distinction in the lighting.  I am VERY happy with them and no wiring required.
