Title: Saw a new machine today, video poker with keno
Post by: uniman on February 03, 2013, 01:55:44 PM
Wife and I took a ride down Boulder Hwy yesterday. Had to cash a bet I made on Georgia football game that was on New Years Day. At Arizonia Charlies I saw an IGT Triple Play video poker with a keno game.
You bet the standard 15 coins on your choice of poker game and then 5 or 10 coins on a keno game next to the cards. Each keno game is played with each poker hand played. Half the numbers are drawn on the deal and the other half on the discard.
Say you pick 6 numbers on the keno, if three keno numbers hit your poker wins are doubled. If you hit four out of six your poker wins are times seven, and twelve times pay if you hit five and six numbers.
The poker pay tables are average and the keno top awards are about half of normal. Available in 1 cent, 2 cent, nickle and quarter denoms. A lot of fun. Sort of like Super Times Pay.

Anyone see these before??

I haven't, but I think I'll stop by and take a look.  I actually submitted a suggestion to IGT about combining poker and keno because they're two games I like.  Can't wait to see it.  Thanks for the tip.  :Dave

Think there are four of them (slant tops), pairs back to back by the gift shop near the ace rewards desk. They say Triple Play with Keno.

A nice twist I haven't seen before. Maybe they tried your suggestion!

Here is what I found at IGT's site, but no pics. http://www.igt.com/us-en/games/game-page.aspx?type_id=8729&showtab=1

Here is a pdf add for this game.

Hmmm, top award says 56,000 credits. But say you drew four aces and a kicker in Triple Double and hit six out of six in the keno? That would be 4000 x 3 x12 plus the 8750 for the keno, a total of 152,750.

Maybe they mean 56,000 per line?

4000 Royal Flush x 12x multiplier = 48,000 + the Keno win of 8,000 = 56,000

So, you're right in that the amount would then be x 3 assuming you were dealt the RF (or 4 Aces with kicker) on Triple Double.

I didn't get a chance to go play it this weekend because I was not feeling well, but will try to get there next weekend.  Sounds like a lot of fun.

Triple Play with Keno just arrived at a local casino.
Here is a pic of one of my wins. Hit four out of four in keno but only one Jk's or better on poker.

You play the keno with either 5 or 10 credits.
Attached are the keno pay tables and multipliers for the poker. Sorry, I cut off the hits on the left. They are 2 thru 10.

Started to analyze this game to determine how best to play it. Wow, so many ways to look at it!  :127-

Just looking at playing 10 coins on keno it looks like playing four numbers gives the best overall multiplier for poker. Chances of hitting any multiplier is a little less than 1 in 4 (3.86) deals.
The multiplier averages out to about 1.59 per hand of poker.
The keno payouts alone are in the 50% range. This is expected as they create poker multipliers too.

Playing two numbers in keno gives a 7x multiplier about every 16.63 spins on average. Nice multiplier but need to be lucky with the poker hand.

Let's say your looking for the home run 12x multiplier. Hitting 4 out of 5 is an 82.7 to 1 chance and it pays 12x. Five out of 5 is a 1550.57 to 1 chance. But playing 5 numbers gives you an overall chance of 10.34 to 1 of hitting any multiplier.

Save yourself some work -- the Wizard of Odds already did a pretty comprehensive analysis of the game:

Thanks Knagl. I was just at the Wizard's site last night and didn't bother to look for it as it is so new. His analysis makes my head spin more than my attempt!! :127-

Playing this game with Triple Double should be lots of fun, but hitting 2-4's with a kicker plus 4 out of 4 in keno for a 12x multiplier is about 1.88 million to one.  :47-
Actually, since it's triple play, maybe more like 628,000 to one.

As with all of the "gimmicky" video poker games, I look forward to trying them, but will only spend my serious gambling dollars on single line vanilla BP or DDB with good paytables.
