Title: Low Battery Question
Post by: edison on February 03, 2013, 07:09:59 PM
I just finished reading about Low Battery Error messages on the S2000. It seems that I too have that problem now. The posts say I need to remove the green 3.6 battery and replace the 3 volt round battery. Most post also say that they received the replacement battery from Mouser Electronics. Does anyone know who they are and how do you get in touch with them. Also what exactley do I ask for?  Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Edison

Mouser.com

Mouser part number: 658-CR2330/HFN  $1.76 in single quantities.

The low battery message is specific to the coin, 3v, battery. Removing the green battery depends on which MpU is installed. The 500 series don't need it and the 1270 enhanced series do. Which do you have?

Is the coin battery soldered in or does it slide into a holder? Also, does the MPU tray have a solid sheet metal handle or hinged round handle to pull it out?

Don't know if this is a 500 or a 1270 board but here are a couple pictures. Any help would be appreciated.
From reading all the posts. I guess once the green battery is removed I am to jump the two positive leads. Is that correct? and can you reconfirm the 3V coin battery part number?
is it still the Mouser part number: 658-CR2330 Also do you know if that one comes with the battery and new housing ?

That is one of the older 50X boards. 658-CR2330/HFN is the correct part number for the battery with solder tabs.  I left off the /HFN on the part number in the previous post.  Your green battery is already leaking and should be removed.  You shouldn't need to add any type of jumper, just remove the battery.

Today, I performed the necessary procedure. Removed the leaking green battery. I also replace the bad 3V coin battery. Rebooted the machine and chased away the error codes with the reset key. Pressed the white board button and let the machine do the rest. Minor sound programming was necessary. All went great. Thanks to all your help I successfully fixed my S2000.  :3-
Thank you
