My main concern is wether or not these be can updated to take new $5. If they can where might I find the chips. Also where can I get a manuel for these.

Yes, I can confirm for a MEI ZT1202 in an IGT S2000 there is an update available that will support all current bills including the new $5. I purchased PLCC chips to update from Happ back in 2008.
