Title: ami r-93
Post by: bikerman on February 10, 2013, 01:45:44 AM
Hoping someone can help me with an ami R-93. I got it working somewhat, it starts playing the record and about half way through the song it returns the needle and returns the record.

Also check the adjustment of the reed switch.
It should be located on a printed circuit board and has a screw to hold it secured.
When the screw is loose a slot in the board allows for adjustment for end of track.

The pins are on both sides of the cam, I tried adjusting the board, either it starts at the beginning and ends half way through or starts a little ways into the song and still stops before the end

I just picked it up yesterday, so not sure. On the circuit board there is a part that looking like a thin glass tube and has what looking like a connector in the center. what does the sensing to tell the arm that the record is over?

if it was bad it would either reject right away or never reject   check that 3/8 nut on back of tone arm that sets the tone arm down on beginning of record

It seems like once it gets to the center of the Reed switch it shuts off like at the end of the song

I can adjust the board so it starts at the beginning and ends half way through or I can have it start halfway into the song and stop at the end like it should

Check the position of the magnet.
The tone are should have a magnet on it that rides over that reed switch and activates the cancel or end of record.
I had one that the magnet moved and was not positioned correctly. It acted exactly as yours does.

It looks like it is, does the reed switch also start the cycle to play the record? I had a repair shop email me and said it sounds like the control board is bad and they can fix for 70
