Title: Converting to 044 Post by: SilverFerret on February 15, 2013, 07:21:33 PM What needs to be replaced to convert an existing 3902 board 17" cabinet model I game into a 044 board I Game?
Is it worth making the change for the newer games and using an adapter for my small collection of 3902 based games? What am I looking at pricewise? And is it an easy swap for someone not technilogically savy? Thanks, Jim Title: Re: Converting to 044 Post by: CVslots on February 15, 2013, 07:55:51 PM To upgrade to 044 you need the MPU board(s) and motherboard/backplane. The 044 boards have a daughter board that goes on top of the main board that takes EPROM/SIMMs for 039 software. Alternatively, there are flashed boards that are game specific. The board sets run around $300-350 if bought as a set. (We have them priced separately on the site, but bought as a package we sell for $350).

And if I have 3902 games, I could just use them until I got a game specific flashed board? Does this sound right? Thanks, Jim Title: Re: Converting to 044 Post by: CVslots on February 15, 2013, 10:25:17 PM Yep! :89-
And the game-specific flash boards run about $300 each for the 256mb (green), not sure how much the 128mb run. A couple months ago I sold a game kit with the glass and 128mb flash board for $300. Household tools could accomplish the conversion? Thanks, Jim Title: Re: Converting to 044 Post by: CVslots on February 16, 2013, 02:07:15 AM Phillips screw driver should be all you need...the motherboard screws into the same holes as the "old" one. :89-

Title: Re: Converting to 044 Post by: zarobhr on March 04, 2013, 09:21:14 PM WHEN I DO THESE CHANGES WILL IT MAKE MY GAMEKING SAS SIX COMPATABLE? it should if your using a 044 flash board, but if your using a memory board with your 3902 games then it will still be what the 3902 game was |
