Title: Newbie Here............
Post by: Lancester on March 09, 2009, 12:04:51 PM
Probably get flamed for this but are there any wells gardner board repairers out there that have a decent turnaround & do quality worK? I have a U5000 & a 7000 series needing repaired.
Also, can anyone reccomend a good replacement 25" monitor for an older 'cruisin' USA"? I'm really tired of trying to keep the u 50000 based one's I have running...

Thanks.

Hi Lancaster, and welcome aboard.

Sorry to disappoint you but we don't flame people on this forum. Cool pic....
I don't know about Wells Grdner but Certronix has a exchange program.
The best I have to offer would be some manuals but it sounds like you are already waist deep in repairs.....
I am sure some of those more versed in monitor repair will jump in shortly....

I'm not sure about board members here, but there's a board member of one of the arcade forums I hang on that does good monitor repair work.

His name is Chad and www.arcadecup.com is his site.

Thanks for the link. His prices are a bit high, but it looks like his turnaround is good & it does include return shipping. If he does quality work, it will be worth the price......

If you get all three of the Wells-Gardner U5000 update (a.k.a. "service kit") kits installed then you wouldn't have so much problems with the monitor.

The U5000 model was replaced by the k7500 series.

www.niemandisplays.com (http://www.niemandisplays.com) sells an excellent 24.8" replacement monitor for the 25" U5000. His company is in Canada, but has USA distributors.

I do Monitor repairs as well. My prices are similar to arcadecup.com , but I am farther behind than he is, so I would suggest to give him a call. I am totally swamped with repairs, so currently I am 4-6 weeks backlogged.

Just wanted to give KUDOS to Chad at
  www.arcadecup.com
He fixed 2 of my OLD Wells Gardner monitors that no one else would/could fix (not even Wells Gardner).   Wish I had found him before I trasher 12 or more of those oldies and spend $175 ea for Korteks.
