Title: Anyone Change a Power Supply - Not using the original?
Post by: Roninva on February 19, 2013, 11:13:45 AM
I have a CDS Boot Scootin and an On The Money game. I blew a fuse trying to fix the coin hopper. I replaced the fuse and the 24v/5v light doesn't come on now and the game won't work without it. The 12v/5v lights are on. Manual say fuse, cable, lights, then lust be the power supply. I haven't checked the cable yet, but will, but not likely that it was blown off in the fun.

CDS parts are pretty much non existent. So, I could try and figure out what is wrong with the power supply, since I have a good game to pull one from to compare it to. Or, has anyone just stuck in a different power supply in a case like this? I have arcade games and there are universal power supplies. So, why can't I do the same here?

Hi Roninva,

I don't have my manual open at the moments but the 24/5V bulbs you are referring to: are they the deck buttons?
If so check this thread out. There is a little resistor on the Mainboard that overheats and kills the lights.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

I did get the power supply from the other game to work in it. had the plug off a pin so that was that part of the problem. Lights on the board came on, but still no game play. Think I might pull the plug and test the wire at both ends if they lead to the same end anyway!
