Title: Cleaning CC unit Post by: gposing on February 25, 2013, 08:10:50 PM I have two CC16 units for an S2000. Both will take about 5 coins then I get a coin in error call attendant. Open/close the door works again for a few coins. I have tried the adj screw but does not seem to help. Are there contacts that need to be cleaned on these?
Thanks Gary Title: Re: Cleaning CC unit Post by: dpalmi on February 25, 2013, 08:19:33 PM I don't believe the coin comparitor actually communicates with the machine, so it is probably the coin optics just below the comparitor that is the problem. The most common problem with the optics is when the wrong size plastic coin guide is used. Usually it's to big (originally for a $1 dollar coin) and a quarter is allowed to move to much left/right as it falls, causing the error. In a jam, I have used a zip tie to make the opening smaller until I get the right size one...

This is not true on a S 2000. I really don't remember how or why I came up with this one, I do remember there was some communications going on from the comparator to the machine or communications from the optics to the comparator, but as I recall I was getting a coin error with the CC unplugged and the rake blocked open.
