Title: Can a CEI reel motor be cleaned?
Post by: whitej2 on March 05, 2013, 08:04:42 PM
After getting a replacement reel motor quote from Maxon for $80.25. p/n 2130.907-22.112-050.  Can I clean the sticky bearings on the old motor with electrical cleaner or am I wasting my time? :279-

If you have a replacement, why not?  You might want to try some 91% rubbing alcohol, but I don't know if that would melt windings insulation or not.  And then a good long blast of air.   Please keep us posted if it works.  And if it don't, too....

I submerged the motor in 200 proof alcohol for about ten mintues. Alot of dirt was left in the dish after cleaning but it was no help. I have to buy a new motor.
