Title: MK 4 lockup
Post by: kaney1 on March 10, 2013, 09:46:02 PM
Hi, the Aristocrat 540 machine won't count any coins in to it after i reset the sram.  I originally had a counterfeit coin error,  then,  illegal coin paid.  I am locked out and would like the procedure to be able to play again as I can't put any coins in to get credit.  I've tried everything apart from standing on my head while trying different combinations of switching pushing buttons and opening and closing the door.    In machine mode there is an alarm 7f 7f 7f this is also what the clock says.  Getting frustrated. Please help.

Here is the instructions I use, you may need a full reset.

Thanks, I tried what you gave me and it worked to clear nearly all of the metering info, but I can't get to the set up screen message.  All that was left in the metering was a  value of 200 and a check jackpot message which i can't get rid of.  I expect that if that were gone I would be able to continue.  Thanks very much for your help but I do need more to  delete this value.

Does anyone know what will happen if I take the battery and the sram chip out of circuit, discharge all caps then replace the battery and the sram?  The machine is locked up good and dosen't respond to all of the reset procedure, so I just need to get rid of the hidden secretive thing the machine has going on to get it to accept coins again.  Amuse me with any ideas please.

That will cause loss of data and require to go through the setup.

That sounds better than not being able to do anything.  Whats the procedure for this please?

I had to fix where the coin was paid to when I fixed my machine after I did a reset as you have.  There is a setting when running the robot test that allows you to switch where the coin goes to when a coin is entered, e.g to hopper, cash box or to tray.  To run the robot test you turn the Power supply off then hold the robo button in on front of the Board.  Turn the power supply on while holding the button in and a series of different screens appear. follow the on screen prompts for selecting the coin info and change where the coin goes to hopper.  Hope this helps otherwise it may be something else.

the reset method above worked after turning the machine off then on but illegal coin paid would appear after a few minuets,

playing the machine seemed to get rid of it and eventually it would reset from a door open close, and now nothing it is gone.

but i did notice ofter reset using method 2 it pays out alot more,  :72-

Sometimes a coin getting stuck in the coin chute gives that warning on my machine or when the hopper pays out more than it counts in.  These things are virtually an ATM like the ones that you get money out of at the Bank with a video game inside.  Your machine looks really dusty in the pic.  Give the sensors on the hopper and the coin chute, even the door sensor a good dust off with a soft bristle brush.  They are infra red sensors and if they cant see each other then that can lead to a fault.
