Even the info that he provides is out of date in Nevada, since most machines are now TITO. Who needs to buy a video to learn that you don't put four quarters in a dollar machine? :5- :58- :81-

Besides, I can tell you how to win at slots for nothing:  Don't play them!!  :97- :97- :97-  Or better still: Buy your own slots so you can get your money back out of the cash box when you're done losing. :127-   Oh, wait... everyone here already knows that.  .....   Sorry, NO REFUNDS!!  :72- :72- :72- :72- :72-

Let me guess. You tried to put quarters in a dollar game and it didn't take them, just like he warned in the video. :5- :96- :30-
or... you learned that women who ignore their purses are easy targets, and you won "found"  money by sneaking up behind.... (kidding of course) :58-   :25- :72- :72- :72-

gambling.jaxworld.com/slots-intro.html

"It's every slot player's dream to walk into a casino, rush over to the first slot machine they see, insert a coin or token ... and hit "the big one." Let's face it: we are captivated, intrigued, and even held spellbound by the "one-armed bandits." Those colorful, spinning reels; the sounds of bells and whistles: those almost blinding, flashing lights; the unmistakable sound of coins or tokens hitting the tray all serve to capture your undivided attention and motivate you to play the slots....and it works!! These fiendish iron monsters have an unending appetite for money....YOUR MONEY! All that aside, the age old question remains: "Do I have any chance at all of beating these confounded slot machines? ...And, if so...HOW?" Good questions. The fact is...no one can GUARANTEE that you will EVER end up a winner by feeding your hard-earned money into slot machines. You may, however, be able to dramatically increase your chances of winning consistently. Let's start with a few facts and myths about casino slot machines.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FACTS

FACT #1 - All casino slot machines are NOT created equal. They may look identical on the outside, but they are totally different beasts on the inside.

FACT #2 - The casino (house) always has the advantage...ALWAYS. Most slot machines are programmed (yes, PROGRAMMED) to pay out between 83% and 99% of the coins placed into them.

FACT #3 - Most of today's "smart" slot machines are driven by microchip processors that incorporate random number generators. Not just ONE, but a SERIES of processors are within each "iron beast." These random number generators continually produce number combinations (which correspond to the reel symbols of each machine) EVEN WHEN THE SLOT MACHINE IS NOT BEING PLAYED. That's right, folks. As long as the machine is on, it doesn't matter whether anyone plays it or not. The combinations continue to generate in the "brain" of the slot machine. Pretty scary, huh?

FACT #4 - When the reels stop spinning and you see the final combination, you are merely seeing the "will" of the microprocessor.  Nothing more - nothing less.  It's (more or less) a "courtesy" to the player. YOU as a player DO NOT affect the final outcome.

If you ever want to know what a slot machine is "thinking," just press "bet one" or "bet max," or drop in a coin and pull the handle or press "spin." What you see on the reels (when they are done spinning) is the precise combination at the exact moment in time you either pushed the "bet one" or "bet max" button (if you are playing with credits).  If you are dropping coins or tokens, the final outcome is determined when you drop the first coin/token.

MYTHS

Myth #1 - A slot machine that has received extended play with no significant payouts is "due" to hit.  (There is NO truth to this myth as outcomes are decided by a combination of randomness and probability factor.)

Myth #2 - If the machine feels cold to the touch, cold coins/tokens should be used.  Likewise, if the machine is warm to the touch, warmed up coins/tokens should be used.  (the temperature of the machine and/or coins has absolutely NO bearing on ANYTHING.)

Myth #3 - If a slot machine has just hit for the top jackpot, it isn't going to hit it again for a very, very long time.  (randomness and probability factor decide when the machine "hits" again.  Nothing more - nothing less.)

Myth #4 - The casinos loosen and tighten the machines at will.  (While the casinos DO keep an eye on who wins/loses, they do NOT "tweak" the machines.  Click on "More Slot Machine Tips" in the Site Navigator below and read Tip #18 for more details).

Right about now, you are either nodding in agreement, or you are in denial.  Regardless, the burning question that made you visit today remains:  "How in the world can I BEAT these confounded casino slots?" Well, let's take a look. Just click below on what you would like to see next."

Fact #2's percentages may be correct for Nevada, however....New Jersey State...Atlantic City>>> some machines have 75% chips installed.
New York native casinos have even worse percentages AND are NOT public knowledge..
The N.Y.S. Lottery Commission which controls all gaming in NY. Does NOT have to disclose any information about compact-based native state-controlled casino operations or revenue.
However, knowing a local tech in a native casino...
he states that the multi-denomination slot games,
can be as low as 57-1/2% on any given weekend during the busiest hours with the server-based terminals.
I honestly cannot verify if he's pulling my leg or not... :96-
I have to get him out on the golf course this summer and dig out more info from him... :72-

The final comment in fact # 3 makes no sense:  "Pretty scary, huh?"   .. Why would having the RNG running all of the time be scary? In fact, it should be comforting. It means that the numbers that get chosen at any given moment are as randomized as reasonably possible and that you can rest assured the machines is not "rigged" to pay out jackpots at certain times, or to "tighten up" at other times.

The statement in red in fact #4 is not entirely accurate, and the author contradicts and corrects himself in the next paragraph. While the player can't deliberately select a final outcome that is desireable, they certainly DO affect the final outcome by the timing of their actions (dropping a coin or pressing a button). It's called PIA, or Player Initiated Action, and it is at the heart of all American Casino gaming machines. To be fair, he does say this in the next paragraph.

I would add a FACT #5:

Because of both facts # 3 and #4, it is not possible for someone else to walk up to a machine after you leave and "steal" your jackpot -- another very common myth. This is because there is no way that you would have pressed the button for that play in exactly the same millisecond or microsecond as the next guy. If you pressed the button less than a thousandth of a second later or earlier, your outcome would have been different.

I didn't know AC had 75% machines.  Although I think I must have good luck because I think I've played all of them.

Actually, Nevada law allows machines to pay as little as 75% as well. It's only competition that keeps most of the payouts higher.

I remember being in Caesars Atlantic City and they had a bank of slot machines that were guaranteed to pay 99%

And you had to put in the proper coin.  A 25 cent machine had to take a quarter.    :97-

I would bet that some of the places have 75% machines mixed in with the high number machines.  Well, that's how I would do it. :96-

Thanks,
Wayne

I agree Wayne -  In fact I think they have more clunkers than winners.  Just the right amount to keep people coming back.   I would like to know what percentages the indian casinos use.  From experience my $20 doesn't last nearly as long there.

Effective 3/16/09
19:46-1.28A  Adopted But Not Effective/Operative
19:46-1.28A  Standards for the approval of a slot machine game
   (a)  No slot machine game shall be approved by the Commission for casino gaming unless it complies with the requirements of this section.
   (b)  Except as otherwise provided in this section, each slot machine game shall have a theoretical payout percentage equal to or greater than 83 percent but less than 100 percent.

This was just posted into the New Jersey Gaming Commission effective yesterday^^
They raised the min. percentage from 75%  to now being no lower than 83%.

That's good, I visit Atlantic City much more often than Vegas, it's a much shorter drive.
