Title: DBV 200 EPROM question
Post by: beauimpala on March 30, 2013, 07:22:22 PM
Can't you just solder in the EPROM without the socket.  If they aren't upgrading these anymore why not just solder it the board?

Yes, but I still like soldering a socket in first. Less heat and risk of damage to the chip

I had a 16 pin socket laying around...........I installed it and the new eprom.  Now I get nothing out of this head.  The LED just constantly blinks now.  I may have just destroyed a JCM 200 head.............
