Title: S2000 Lamps
Post by: Ed_milehi on April 04, 2013, 01:18:40 PM
I have a S2000 with some bad led lamps/bulbs.  One is a 3 led wedge(?) type lamp and a post here points to http://www.americangaminginc.com/products/products.asp?CategoryId=1359&ItemId=76793  (http://www.americangaminginc.com/products/products.asp?CategoryId=1359&ItemId=76793).  That bulb is a 12v and my bad bulb has 6v on it.

I also need some of the 1 led bulbs but there is no writing on them, anyone know which voltage I should be using or the correct part numbers to order and does the polarity matter when  the bulb is inserted?

LED's are great replacements for incandescent bulbs.  They use less wattage and generate less heat, while getting more eye attention.

I worked with LED's in the 80's and thought how great they'd be used in Automotive brake lights, etc...  but I'd rather not discuss that mi$$ed investment.  :279-

Superbrightleds.com is a bit pricey per bulb ... Check ebay for T5/Wedge LED's in the automotive section ...  savings are great for bulk lots!   Be sure to look for U.S. distributors, not China.   :81-
They're so cheap, you can buy many and experiment.  For example:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/20X-Flat-Ultra-White-6000K-37-58-70-73-74-T5-Dashboard-Gauge-1-LED-Wedge-Bulb-/170969313841?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27ce90b231&vxp=mtr (http://www.ebay.com/itm/20X-Flat-Ultra-White-6000K-37-58-70-73-74-T5-Dashboard-Gauge-1-LED-Wedge-Bulb-/170969313841?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27ce90b231&vxp=mtr)
20 bulbs for $8.  I'm using 2 of these in my IGT candles.  Yes, the original candle bulbs have a wider base (T10) and are also available.  But I discovered that these smaller based bulbs can work. Just fan out the wire contacts on the base and play with the fitment... . . they can be made to work.
If you don't want to fidget with fitting, candle LED bulbs are the same as automotive T10 or 2825.

And this is a S2000?

If you try posting a new topic in the S2000 forum addressing your issues, I'm confident they aren't anything we can't help you with.  :89-
