Title: WMS 550 Yukon Gold intermittent critical memory error 8 Post by: rob20_760 on March 16, 2009, 10:54:47 PM I bought this slot at an auction. I got it home hooked it up and got nothing but a black screen and never ending "8". I did a RAM clear on it and it worked fine for about 10 minutes. Now every so often the screen will black out then reset to the blue screen with the critical error 8 message. I follow the instructions to reset it then it works for a while again. The longest it ran is about 4 hours.
Title: Re: WMS 550 Yukon Gold intermittent critical memory error 8 Post by: blueridgeslots on March 16, 2009, 11:16:03 PM The 8 is usually the CPU Board, most common is the processor on the end near the pull tabs, make sure it is seated good, if not and you have another board, try swapping them and see

I remove the battery first ( not sure if this is necessary but I figure it can't hurt) then I remove the processor and ground it out in my hand for a few seconds. I hope this helps.

I know that its not WBA-11 because the slide in connection is different. I put in a WBA-13 in it and it winds once it connects but it won't accept any bills. When I put in a WBA-12 in it constantly whinds. anyone have any suggestions.
