Title: Multicade project
Post by: coinoptech on April 16, 2013, 05:57:35 PM
This game was built using a Galaxian cabinet. I completely stripped the cabinet inside and out.

All graphics are from digdug. I put a plexi cover on the control panel. heated with a heat gun and formed over it . Also plexi over the front graphics.
I used a 24 inch LCD monitor.

When you say you put a plexi over the control panel and used a heat gun, do you mean that it curved the plexi to firm fit the control panel? Did you have to cut off any excess after you did that?

Hello BR549,
I measured it and cut it to the right size and then I positioned it where the buttons and joystick go and clamped the plexie to the control panel so I could use a Dremel tool with a side cutter bit to cut out the holes using the control panel for the template.   (I have tried several ways to cut the plexie and nothing comes close to the Dremel.)
Next I installed a couple of the buttons to hold the plexie in place , then I could slowly heat the plexie and form it around the bottom of the control panel.
Sorry I don't have better pictures of the process.
Scott
