Title: Stupid question about jackpot bell Post by: angryninjas on April 23, 2013, 07:14:08 PM Ok, I'm an idiot... I've had an IGT S Plus for about 5 years now (April 1996 manufacture date), and still haven't been able to find where the jackpot bell plugs in? The jackpot bell is located in the upper right corner (behind my power switch and coin counters), and has a 2 wire lead coming off of it with a 2-prong connector. There are other hard wired wires leading into the bell as well. The wire lead with the plug is not long enough to reach the circuit board, and I do not see any plugs or other possible connecters within the 6-inch wire range for it to plug into. Am I missing something?
Also, once I find where to plug it in, which option do I set to have it ring on every win? I'm currently running a Double Jackpot Haywire kit in it, but it was originally a 5X pay, and then later I ran a Triple Diamond kit in it. The triple diamond and 5x pay used the same game chip (different reel chips), but the new haywire kit I just installed uses a different game chip. Not sure if any of that matters for finding the bell settings or not, but thought I'd throw it out there. I can get the game chip number if needed, just not around my machine at the moment. Am I missing something? Welcome to the site. The previous owner may have torn out the wiring for the bell since it's incredibly loud and annoying. Using the search function (at the top of the page, for your future reference) I found this post (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=4519.msg38350#msg38350) where Foster mentions that on an IGT S+ machine, the jackpot bell plugs in to J11 on the motherboard if it's an upright machine, or J14 on the motherboard if it's a slant top machine. The motherboard is the fixed board mounted on the bottom of an upright machine, or along the back wall on the bottom of a slant top machine. The settings vary somewhat depending on what GAME (or "SP") chip you are using. If you care to post the number(s) of your SP chip(s), I will be happy to direct you to the PSR (Program Summary Report) for your chips, which are the instructions of sort on what settings/features are available. |
