Title: SP932 and SS3670 trouble FIXED Post by: therockinelvis on May 04, 2013, 12:25:29 AM I have a star wild, red, white, and blue 3 coin with a progressive. When I go into the diag. test everything shows zero's coin played shows stepping thru numbers but every one has zero's. Had 61 and I got it to 61-1 but will not clear from there. Machine was made in 2/96. The board will reset and play in another machine. I have wired the door switch together and the cash box door switch also. I have messed with the door optic's but machine still does not sense the door closed. Is there something with the cash can in this circuit?

Some SP chips require actual, functioning door optics in order to get past a 61-1 (ie. not just jumpered door optics wires, but real IGT door optics), which is one reason why I'm not a fan of bypassing them on an S+. The first thing I'd try is to install a working set of optics in your machine to bring it back to stock, and then try clearing your 61 error. Because unlike the 1271 the 932 is from New Jersey. Would that be for the Progressive? The reason I asked about the cash can having optic's is when I looked in there I saw a set of wires hooked to some kind of switch-sensor on both sides and a hole thru the cash can.

I switched the sensor's and like majic all reset. I can't believe it took so long for the wire colors to jump out at me. Another one for my trouble shooting book.

There are optics in the cash can enclosure that tell the bill validator what the status of the stacker box ("cash can") is so it knows if it's ready to accept a bill or not. Those optics don't affect the machine, however, in so far as reporting that a door is open or not.
As far as the SET chip, I haven't looked at the PSR for your SP chip, but the SET chip is only used to enable the bill validator, and the bill validator isn't required to get past a 61 error. |
